An Exploratory Study on Organizational Happiness in the Thought of Nursery Teachers

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of organizational happiness that daycare center teachers think of to pursue happiness and quality of life in the workplace and to find ways to increase the effectiveness of the organization. To this end, content analysis was conducted through qualitative research methods by collecting the contents and journals of the teacher community meeting for happy daycare centers operated by H Daycare Center in B City from 2020 to 2021. As a result of the study, organizational happiness that teachers think was derived as a definition and practice for happy daycare centers. Organizational happiness can be defined as ¡°a daycare center where everyone is happy,¡± where not only infants but also parents and teachers surrounding care are happy, and it is always a ¡°place of joy,¡± a ¡°care space of love and interest¡± and a ¡°life of meaningful trust.¡± As an action plan for organizational happiness, ¡°the practice of good care¡± requires ¡°the happiness and healthy life of teachers¡± and ¡°learning and reflection through relationships¡± should be made. Respect and consideration are needed in caring relationships, and ¡®active communication with parents¡¯ is necessary. At the organizational level, it was found that the ¡®maximum allowable culture for freedom¡¯ of infants is needed, and ¡®stable manpower support¡¯ is needed at the institutional level.
This study is significant in that teachers in the field independently reorganized organizational happiness from the perspective of positive organizations. Through this study, it is expected that more daycare centers will be able to concretely implement positive action plans with a goal for organizational happiness.
